| 1. Does it cost anything to join? No, there is no fee of any sort associated with joining Wizard's World. 2. Who can join? Anyone over 21 can apply for membership. 3. Do you need to be published to join? No, our members include published and un-published writers. 4. I write mainstream fiction, can I join? Yes, don't let our name fool you. We are open to all genres including mainstream, literary, speculative fiction, young adult, horror and just about anything else. 5. How many members are there? Currently we have nine members. 6. What is the membership limit? Our target range is between ten and twelve members. 7. How do I become a member of Wizard's World? If you feel that you could benefit from our group, please fill out an application. It looks scarier than it really is. 8. How do you select members? Applications are reviewed and approved by a consensus of all our members. We look for qualities that our similar to our own, a commitment towards improving our craft, the ability to give and recieve constructive criticism, good basic writing skills and those that "play well with others". 9. Can I submit poetry? Poetry is accepted on a limited basis. No more than one poem a week. 10. What are Pacts? The Pacts are writing contracts that we make with ourselves and the group in order to hold us to our goals in accomplishing various writing tasks, whether it is to write a certain amount a week or to finish a project by a certain date. 11. What does WIP mean? Work in Progress. Usually used to refer to work that hasn't seen much progress lately. 12. Will Wizard's World publish my work? No, we are not a publisher. Any work submitted to the group is not considered published in way. Our work is shared only among our members for the purpose of critiqueing. Our archives are not accessible by non-members. 13. If I post on the list do I keep my copyright? Yes, your work is your property. Wizard's World claims no right to anything you post to the group. 14. What about publishing rights? Access to your writing is limited to members only and is for the purpose of critical review, thus submitting to the workshop will not jeopardize your publishing rights. 15. I write manuscripts dealing with adult themes and situations, is this acceptable? Yes, we do allow adult content. 16. Do I have to critique to be a member? Yes, everyone is required to critique to maintain their membership status. 17. I don't know how to critique, can I still join? Yes, we are willing to let you learn as you go, but you must be willing to learn. |
